Whether you are a student looking for a small job or just curious, there are all good reasons to participate in the harvest. It is also the best way to learn more about wine. This is why Olivier Poels tells us how to take part in this annual meeting in the program "La Table des bons vivant".

Wine is one of the products that we are most proud of and that the whole world envies us.

So why not learn more about this terroir?

What better way to do this than to participate in the famous harvest which takes place in September in the various estates.

An enriching and unique experience, open to all that you can do this year.

For this, we follow the advice of Olivier Poels to know the steps to follow in the program

Time and energy

"It's very easy to harvest, you just need time, a little energy or at least be healthy enough", explains Olivier Poels. "You shouldn't lie to yourself, it's quite physical afterwards for the know-how, no need for a diploma, you are taught on the job."

To access the harvest, all you have to do is register or apply directly to the vineyards or via temporary agencies in the regions that cultivate wine.

"Many estates are still looking for grape pickers since with the coronavirus even foreign pickers - who are not sufficient in normal times - are missing. This is why registrations are being put in place. You can also consult the social networks and you can contact local ANPEs or interim offices. "

On the remuneration side, it is generally the minimum wage that is applied but some areas also offer food and accommodation in addition. "And the harvest is above all a friendly atmosphere that we find at the time of the harvest ban to celebrate the harvest and just for that, the trip is worth it."
