Jamaican Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah crushed the 100m at the Paris meeting on Saturday in 10 sec 72, a new very high level time.

In 10 sec 72 (+1.3 m / s of wind), she beat her compatriot Shericka Jackson (10.97), bronze medalist at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Thompson-Herah (29 years old), who had dazzled the Games with three titles (100, 200 and 4x100 m), this season threatens the old world record of the American Florence Griffith-Joyner (10 sec 49 in 1988), marred suspicion of doping.

Thursday, she was beaten by her compatriot Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce in Lausanne despite an excellent time (10 sec 60 against 10 sec 64), five days after having marked the spirits in Eugene (Oregon) in 10 sec 54, the 2nd best time in history.

Fraser-Pryce, Olympic vice-champion in the straight line, was absent in Paris.

"I am very happy to have crossed the finish line in good health, it is still a time around 10 sec 70, so I am very satisfied also on this plan, reacted Elaine Thompson-Herah. world is a short-term goal, it is quite close but if I end the season without hanging it, it does not matter, I am a double Olympic champion (in the 100 m, note), delighted with my performances and I am not never gone so fast. I am very satisfied with what I have accomplished in 2021. "
