The Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, Mattar Muhammad Al Tayer, has approved the strategic plan of the Dubai Taxi Corporation (2021-2023), which includes updating the Corporation’s vision to be (leading in providing safe and sustainable digital transport services), and it includes six corporate values, five Strategic goals, and 11 strategic goals, which are measured through 23 indicators, and the plan includes the implementation of 51 development initiatives.

Al Tayer stressed the authority’s keenness to develop the services of the taxi transport sector in the Emirate of Dubai, to employ artificial intelligence, technologies and smart systems in the taxi sector, and to expand the fleet of taxis and limousines, to keep pace with the rapid growth and development witnessed by the Emirate of Dubai, and to facilitate the movement of mass transit passengers. And providing distinguished services to facilitate the movement of visitors to Expo 2020.

Al Tayer added: “The strategic plan of the Dubai Taxi Corporation includes six corporate values, which are institutional reputation, excellence and innovation, happiness and positive energy, leadership and teamwork, sustainability, leadership and competitiveness, while the strategic goals include five goals, which are digital mobility, future foresight, and sustainability. Finance, people’s happiness, and distinguished employment.” The plan includes the implementation of 51 initiatives distributed over several axes, the most important of which is increasing the market share of the Corporation in the taxi sector from 41.5% currently, to 44% in 2023, and increasing the market share of limousines operating within electronic reservation applications (e-hail), from 8.5% currently, to 12% in 2023, and increasing the percentage of taxi trips through the same applications from 14% to 16%. The plan also aims to convert 5% of the taxi fleet to self-driving vehicles in 2023, and increase the percentage of environmentally friendly vehicles in the institution to 56%, indicating that the plan includes, in the axis of financial sustainability, rationalization of expenditures and an increase in operational and non-operating revenues.The Foundation’s strategic plan pays special attention to the axis of people’s happiness, and seeks to improve the work environment for employees and drivers, and provide distinguished services to customers. It aims to reach the percentage of customers’ satisfaction with taxi service to 90% in 2023, and about school bus service to 93%, and raise the percentage of customers’ satisfaction with taxi service to 90% in 2023. The happiness of drivers is 84%, and employees’ happiness is 89%. On the operational side, the plan includes improving the operations management system and improving safety specifications, as the organization seeks to raise the percentage of kilometers produced from 49% currently to 53% in 2023, and maintain 90% of efficiency. operating taxis and limousines, and reducing the rate of carbon dioxide emissions.
