The National Governing Council, the highest decision-making body established by the Myanmar Army, held a press conference on the 27th, explaining the results of a survey that a large-scale "fraud" was confirmed in the general election last November.

The press conference was also invited by diplomats and is believed to be aimed at justifying the military that carried out the coup d'etat ahead of the UN General Assembly starting in September.

Members of the Election Commission, which is under military control, also attended the press conference in Naypyidaw, the capital of Myanmar.

Among them, a member of the Election Commission explained the result of investigating the general election in November last year when the political party NLD = National League for Democracy, led by Mr. Aung San Suu Kyi, won overwhelmingly, and duplicated the name of the voter list. He said that more than 11.3 million cases of "fraud" were confirmed, including the description of unqualified persons.

He criticized, "The elections were not free and fair. The NLD abused its authority because of the conspiracy to seize state power."

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the National Governing Council claimed that armed citizens were destroying the security and stability of the country, showing photos and testimony.

The press conference on the 27th was also held by inviting diplomats stationed in Myanmar.

It is expected that the Myanmar issue will be discussed at the UN General Assembly starting in September, and it seems that the Myanmar military had the aim of widely appealing to diplomats about the legitimacy of the military that carried out the coup d'etat through the interview.
