A citizen student from the Scientific Creativity Council has created a smart glove that helps people of determination and senior citizens drive and bring a wheelchair to them without the need for the assistance of other people.

Student Ali Hamid Al-Loghani told "Emirates Today" that he "participated in the smart glove project, which took about four months to complete in the TRA's virtual camp for innovation (Tedra Virtual Camp - Advanced Track), and won the gold category the day before yesterday."

He explained that the project consists of a glove equipped with a number of technical capabilities, including sensors, a charging battery, and standard communication technology to transfer data between two devices together (Bluetooth), and others, in addition to a wheelchair equipped with the technology of receiving signals via “Bluetooth”, translating them, and then moving towards The person requesting it.

He pointed out that he chose this project that serves the health field in order to help the category of people of determination and senior citizens who face a problem in obtaining a wheelchair on their own without the help of others, and therefore feel very difficult to move from one place to another.

He stated that he faced a number of difficulties during the completion of the project, and was able to overcome them by searching on the Internet, and communicating with his teachers in the school and specialists in the field of modern technologies to find solutions to all difficulties, noting that he received great support from his parents, who encourage him to innovate and continue in Implementation of innovative projects.
