On August 24, local time, an acid spill occurred at a subway station in southeastern Tokyo. Two people were burned and the suspect was at large.

  Japanese police said that at around 9 o'clock that night, a male suspect fled after spilling suspected sulfuric acid liquid on passengers at Shirogane Takanawa Station in Minato Ward, Tokyo.

A 22-year-old man suffered serious injuries to his face and shoulder; a 34-year-old woman suffered minor injuries to the leg.

  Kyodo News reported that the suspect was about 175 cm tall, aged 30 to 50 years old, wearing black clothes and a mask.

  The incident was located in a high-end residential area, and the police subsequently blocked the entrance of the subway station.

More than 10 police cars and fire trucks rushed to the scene, and some personnel were wearing protective equipment.

The subway operations are not affected.
