After ten years of careful selection, I finally found an ideal tea planting base in Hezhou." Taiwanese businessman and chairman of Guangxi Runhuan Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. Yang Minlun said in an interview recently.

  Yang Minlun said that his earliest knowledge of the motherland began with tea.

In the five thousand years of Chinese culture, the fragrance of tea on both sides of the strait originates from the same origin.

"Since childhood, my parents who made tea at home have told me how tea was introduced to Taiwan from the mainland. Tea is not only a medium for family and friends to reunite, convey blessings, and express feelings, but also a specific symbol of traditional Chinese festivals."

  Yang Minlun and his wife Lai Lifang became attached to the mainland in search of their favorite tea plantations.

"When I visited Guangxi in 2008, I met her through a friend's introduction. When I came to Guangxi for the second time, I jokingly told her to pick up the plane from Guilin, and she went stupidly. Since then, we started to pass. QQ chat, once come and go, they become husband and wife." Yang Minlun said.

  Yang Minlun said that since 2011, the couple have been trying to find suitable places for tea planting in Guangxi and Fujian.

After years of searching, in 2019, a tea garden with an area of ​​more than 1,000 acres was finally built in Pangu Village, Etang Town, Pinggui District, Hezhou City.

  "High-quality tea requires a good ecological environment and suitable soil quality, as well as a suitable altitude and just the right sunshine time. The land in Pangu Village, Etang Town, possesses these conditions, as if this land is related to me, and is dedicated to waiting. Let me grow tea." Yang Minlun said.

  Yang Minlun said: “Hezhou has no industrial pollution. All the counties and districts within its jurisdiction are the'township of longevity.' Hezhou is also a national-level export food and agricultural product quality and safety demonstration zone. The landscape here is very good, and the climate is similar to my hometown Taichung. Suitable for the development of tea planting."

  Yang Minlun said that after more than two years of preparation, the tea processing plant has entered the final stage of commissioning. The tea he planted and processed will go on sale in September this year.

  Yang Minlun said that developing on the mainland will not only have a large market, but also benefit from the Taiwanese policy.

"In July 2020, Hezhou City introduced 76 measures to benefit Taiwan. The recently introduced '22 measures for agriculture and forestry' have given Taiwanese businessmen engaged in agriculture a reassurance in terms of land contracting and other aspects."

  Yang Minlun introduced that Hezhou’s Taiwan Affairs Office organized agriculture and other relevant departments to carefully guide us in striving for a demonstration base for Gui-Taiwan agricultural cooperation. In the early stage of the project, 1,000 acres of tea gardens will be built to grow fine tea species, and a standardized star-rated tea factory of about 2,000 square meters will be built. The project is expected to produce about 500,000 kilograms of fine tea annually, with an output value of over 10 million yuan.

In the later stage of the project, agarwood, Taiwanese fruits and famous flowers will be planted to create a pastoral complex.
