According to Interfax, the meeting, which lasted a little over an hour, was closed to the press.
It was attended by Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg.
Lavrov is on an official visit to Vienna on August 25-26.
Earlier, Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz highly appreciated the talks held in Vienna with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
