A new explosion rocked the Afghan capital Kabul around midnight, according to AFP journalists.

Few details and no balance sheet for the moment.

With US troops due to leave Afghanistan in five days, a double explosion near Kabul airport left at least 72 dead on Thursday.

At least 60 Afghan civilians have been killed, along with 12 US servicemen, the Pentagon has confirmed.

The attack was claimed Thursday evening by the local branch of Daesh (ISKP, or Islamic State Province of Khorasan).

Witnesses said a third explosion was heard in Kabul in the evening, and Joe Biden is due to address the Americans at 11 p.m. KST.
