The LR deputy for Alpes-Maritimes Eric Ciotti announced Thursday that he would be a candidate for the right-wing primary, with a view to the 2022 presidential election. "My project will be on the right, with a clear objective: that France remains France, "said the parliamentarian on Europe 1, when explaining his choice.

There are now officially three candidates for a possible right-wing primary.

After the president of the Ile-de-France region, Valérie Pécresse, and the LR mayor of Garenne-Colombes, Philippe Juvin, it is the LR deputy of the Alpes-Maritimes, Eric Ciotti, who officially embarked on the presidential race this Thursday.

At the microphone of Romain Desarbres in Europe midi, the parliamentarian, member of the Law Commission at the National Assembly, clarified his ambitions, saying he wanted to "carry a line, a position to the right".

He did not fail to target, without naming him, Xavier Bertrand, presidential candidate, but who refuses to submit to this tie-breaking process.

"If there are two candidates, you don't even need to go."
