The quarrel began on Wednesday when opposition members began throwing bottles at a politician from Prime Minister Nikol Pasjinjan's party Civil Contract.

The incident triggered a fight, after which the President paused the session and called in security guards.

After the antagonists had calmed down somewhat, the deliberations resumed in the House, but soon it was time again.

A member of the Civil Contract fired a kick at an opposition parliamentarian, which ended in a mass fight.

Several members were escorted out by security guards, and one of them ended up in hospital with an eye injury.

The disagreement is based on the loss of Nagorno-Karabakh during last year's war against neighboring Azerbaijan.

The conflict, which cost around 6,500 lives, ended when Pashinjan signed a ceasefire negotiated by Russia, in which Armenia ceded territory in and around the disputed breakaway region.

At home, the ceasefire triggered a crisis of confidence and a debate of betrayal.

Pasjinjan announced new elections in June, in which the Civil Contract regained a majority, but in the divided parliament, the opposition still accuses him of "capitulation".
