The five districts with the lowest vaccination coverage in the county are student areas in Uppsala, where the proportion of fully vaccinated is between 25-30 percent.

Exactly how many students are vaccinated is difficult to grasp, as some may be vaccinated in other counties or even abroad.

But Uppsala University still considers that the vaccination coverage is "good" and has in consultation with the Uppsala Region decided to have mostly on-site teaching.

- We have respect for the situation we are in, there are ongoing discussions all the time, says Fredrik Blomqvist, head of security at Uppsala University.

Last year, the infection picked up speed again in connection with the start of the semester, but the reason why the university now considers it safe to have on-site tuition is that the government requirement for distance tuition is gone and that vaccinations are underway.

What is required for you to change back to full distance education?

- There are two things that can change that, a government decision or that the occupancy rate in our hospitals increases markedly with a connection to the corona, says Fredrik Blomqvist.
