The man is fine today.

But he did not do so the last year he lived with his then wife.

He was hospitalized eleven times and was declared clinically dead on two occasions, reports NRK.

However, he was revived both times and during the eleventh hospital visit, a substance was discovered in his blood that Norwegian hunters had previously used as arrow poison.

Doctors found traces of the neurotoxin aconitine, which paralyzes muscles and causes breathing and heart problems.

The substance is found in a type of plant that the police then found in a dustbin when they examined the man's home.

He shared the home with his wife, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Checked out poisonous plants

The woman denies that she poisoned her then husband and claims that he poisoned himself to get her attention.

The woman has stated in questioning with the police that the man has repeatedly said that he wants to die, but that image is not shared by the care staff and has taken care of the man.

The police investigation shows that the woman has searched for poisonous plants on her mobile and computer, which is now used as evidence against her.

- There are quite extensive investigations that have been done about her internet use, linked to toxins, says prosecutor Bjørn Kristian Soknes to NRK.

The couple are now separated and the accused woman is wanted.
