The National and Islamic Action Factions Committee had called on the Palestinians to participate in the "The Sword of Jerusalem Will Not Sheath" festival and a march near the border fence with Israel, on Wednesday, east of the border town of Khuza'a, in the southern Gaza Strip.

The festival comes within popular activities in rejection of the Israeli siege and procrastination in the file of the reconstruction of Gaza, and the humane extortion of the population, according to a source in the committee.

The "Sword of Jerusalem" was launched by the Palestinian armed factions in Gaza in response to an Israeli aggression on the Strip, which began on May 10 and lasted 11 days.

No entry, no exit

In a related context, the Ministry of Interior in the Gaza Strip announced that the Egyptian authorities will continue to close the Rafah crossing in the southern Gaza Strip for the third day in a row.

"The Egyptian authorities continue to close the Rafah crossing in both directions," the ministry said in a statement.

3 letters

In addition, the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah sent identical letters to 3 United Nations officials warning of the critical security situation in the Gaza Strip, and denouncing Israel's obstruction of efforts to rebuild the Strip.

The representative of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, sent these messages to the Secretary-General of the Organization, Antonio Guterres, the President of its General Assembly, Volkan Bozkir, and the President of the Security Council's work this August, the Indian diplomat TS Tirumurti.

Mansour described the three officials in a picture of the "critical security situation" that the Palestinians are going through inside the besieged Gaza Strip, due to the repeated Israeli attacks, and the deteriorating humanitarian, social and economic conditions there.

The UN delegate of Palestine warned of the grave dangers posed by the escalation of violence due to Israel's policies in Gaza and all over the occupied territory, including East Jerusalem.

More than two million Palestinians live in Gaza, suffering from very poor living conditions as a result of the continuous Israeli blockade of the Strip since the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) won the legislative elections in 2006.
