Egypt distributes the first million doses of the homemade “Corona” vaccine

The Egyptian Minister of Health, Dr. Hala Zayed, announced that the ministry had received the first million doses of the locally produced (Vaccera-Sinovac) vaccine against Corona, after completing the testing stages.

A statement on the official page of the ministry via the Facebook website stated that this comes in accordance with the cooperation agreement between the Chinese company Sinovac and the Holding Company for Biopharmaceuticals and Vaccines (Vaccera), and its distribution to vaccination centers in various governorates of the Republic.

The minister stressed that what Vacsera has achieved is a qualitative and historic leap in Egypt.

Khaled Mujahid, Assistant Minister of Health and Population for Information and Awareness and the official spokesperson for the ministry, said that the doses of the Vaccera-Sinovac vaccine were delivered to the medical supply stores of the Ministry of Health and Population, after completing the necessary testing stages, in accordance with the requirements of the World Health Organization, and distributing them to vaccination centers.

He pointed out that the manufacturing and analysis stages of 15 million doses, which is the production capacity of the Vaccera Company, are being completed per month, in preparation for distributing them to centers for receiving Corona vaccines at the level of the Republic.
