The Chinese Communist Party is conducting a large-scale investigation into whether city executives are cohesive with companies in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, in the eastern part of the country, where Alibaba Group, the largest online retailer, is headquartered.

On the 21st of this month, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, which is responsible for detecting corruption of party members in the Chinese Communist Party, announced that it is investigating Hangzhou's top secretary, Isamu Zhou Jiang, for serious disciplinary violations.
