It is shocking to learn that a woman in her 20s in the United States, who had received attention from the local media for her courageous fight over cancer, recently lost her life in a hit and run accident.

On the 24th local time, foreign media such as CBS in the US reported that the victim who was hit by a hit and run vehicle in downtown Chicago earlier this month and died instantly was identified as 27-year-old Sophie Allen, a fully cured breast cancer.

Allen, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in his mid-20s, endured painful chemotherapy for over a year.

This year, he received chemotherapy and surgery in a row, but he also shared his story on TV and participated in a fundraising campaign for cancer patients.

Allen, who fought bravely against cancer, fortunately recovered his health, and was finally cured after receiving chemotherapy in June.

He promised to marry the boyfriend who had been by his side for 5 years.

However, on August 4, only 51 days after cancer, Allen was visiting a friend in Chicago and was hit by a traffic light while crossing an intersection.

The driver and passenger fled without action, leaving the car behind.

Allen, who was delighted to have overcame cancer and said, "I have overcome the greatest hurdle of my life," lost his life in an instant in a hit and run accident.

Police said the hit and run vehicle was on the run after hitting another vehicle just minutes before the accident.

The vehicle remains at the scene of the accident, but the whereabouts of the escaped driver and passengers have not been found.

Alvarez, a friend who woke up alone in the hospital after an accident with Mr. Allen, said, "It is not yet too late to ask for forgiveness. My friend's life cannot end like this." He pleaded with the criminal to surrender.

This is a 'news pick'.
