The Ministry of Justice reported that on August 20 they made a decision to include LLC TV Channel Dozhd in the register of foreign mass media performing the functions of a foreign agent on the basis of documents received from state authorities.
The report says that, according to data from Roskomnadzor, "Dozhd" quarterly submits notifications of receipt of funds from foreign sources.
“Thus, within the framework of the concluded agreement, LLC TV Channel Dozhd received from the European Union, represented by the European Commission (Brussels, Belgium), for coverage of relations between the EU and Russia, more than 130 thousand euros,” the ministry said.
According to the Ministry of Justice, Rosfinmonitoring also established that LLC TV Channel Dozhd received "indirect foreign financing through Russian funds."
Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the inclusion of "Dozhd" * in the register of foreign media agents did not require approval from the Kremlin.
