Emmanuel Macron is meeting his government this Wednesday, August 25, 2021 for a Council of Ministers back to school.

The summer break will not have changed anything: it is again the Covid-19 epidemic, and vaccination, which are at the heart of French political news.

While the figures are not encouraging and the effect of holiday returns worries, the executive wants to

continue to encourage

the French to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

And in particular the police, even if it means forcing them, according to the Minister of the Interior Gerald Darmanin.

The latter displays firmness, but also a lot of caution.

Indeed, there is no question for the government to offer additional arguments to the anti-health pass and anti-tax challenge.

If the possibility of compulsory vaccination for the police is raised, it will be a last resort, explains the government.

For example, in the event that the rate of 90% of vaccinated is not reached in the country.

But the Minister of the Interior evokes his confidence, revealing that the rate of vaccination in the police force would be higher than the average of the French.

Words very close to those of Jean-Michel Blanquer concerning teachers.

On the other hand, the Minister of National Education was careful not to mention any vaccine constraint.

The government is fighting on many fronts: it will therefore launch a large vaccination campaign in schools for students over 12 years old.

And to convince young people to get vaccinated, a communication operation on social networks has started, in partnership with Skyrock radio.

Another challenge: convincing seniors, who are particularly susceptible to developing a severe form of the disease in the event of contact with SARS-CoV-2.

In the coming months, nearly 18 million French people over the age of 65 or suffering from chronic pathologies will be called upon to receive a

third dose of vaccine
