The couple was traveling in a trailer trailer loaded with iron beams which according to the police must have weighed about 26 tons.
It was the woman who was driving when the truck overturned and ended up on the roof.
- According to their information, the man, who is the actual driver, has become tired and then the woman has taken over.
She lacks a driver's license for this type of vehicle, says Klas Hellgren, on-call prosecutor.
Influenced by drugs
The man who was sitting next to him was not wearing a belt and sustained minor injuries and has been hospitalized during the day.
The woman survived without injuries.
Both the woman and the man were under the influence of drugs and a small amount of drugs was also found in the truck.
After questioning, the couple has now been arrested.
- They do not live in Sweden and there is a danger of escape.
That is why I have arrested them, says Klas Hellgren.
The woman is suspected of aggravated drunk driving, gross negligence in traffic and drug offenses of the normal degree.
The man is suspected of drug offenses and aiding and abetting aggravated drunk driving.
- There will possibly be a permit for illegal driving as far as the man is concerned, but he has not yet been arrested for that classification, says Klas Hellgren.
