The big press boss and politician was summoned this Monday, August 23, to the central police station in Dakar.

Bougane Gueye Dany, head of the opposition movement Gueum Sa Bopp, takes a position on the political spectrum a few months before the local elections.

After having disseminated in Dakar 200 advertising posters bearing his image and the name of his party to call on the Senegalese to register on the electoral lists, he was summoned this Monday to the central police station in Dakar.

There he received a letter from the prefect indicating that this "

posting containing political messages

" is a violation of the law on publicity and that it is "

likely to create disturbances to public order through acts of vandalism

”. The prefect then asks that these posters be removed within 24 hours, that is to say before Tuesday, August 24 in the morning.

Bougane Gueye Dany told RFI to have "

taken note of the letter

" and that his lawyers "

will take the appropriate measures

 ".

But the boss of the media group D-media does not intend to remove these posters and adds that he "

still has television and radio

" to encourage citizens to register on the electoral rolls until. September 14th.

The Minister of the Interior Antoine Diom through his services decree that posters to encourage young people to register on the electoral rolls can create disturbances to public order through acts of vandalism.
