COVID-19 statistics in Russia

On Monday, August 23, the Czech authorities excluded Russia from the list of countries with an extreme risk of infection with COVID-19.

Travel to the countries on this list is allowed for Czech citizens only in urgent cases with prior notification to the authorities.

Russia has been on this list since July 1 - at the moment, the Russian Federation is included in the category of states with "a very high risk of carrying coronavirus infection."

“Russia has been excluded from the list of countries with extreme risk of coronavirus infection since Monday.

Tunisia, India and other states are also excluded from this list.

On the contrary, it includes Brazil, Colombia, Mozambique, Nepal, Paraguay, Peru and Tanzania, ”TASS quotes the text of the message of the Czech Ministry of Health.

A new wave of coronavirus infection is expected in September, said Deputy Prime Minister of the Moscow Region - Minister of Health of the Region Svetlana Strigunkova, speaking about equipping medical institutions near Moscow with new equipment in front of Governor Andrei Vorobyov.

“Andrey Yuryevich, I ask your instructions to the heads of city districts to assist in registering cars with the traffic police.

This is important now, given that the next wave is predicted, naturally, in the fall of covid, we need transport.

Therefore, I ask the heads to take control of the registration of cars, ”TASS quotes her.

In Russia, over the past day, 19,454 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected - the daily increase was less than 20 thousand for the first time since June 23.

The largest number is in Moscow (1458), the Moscow region (1187) and St. Petersburg (691 - the lowest figure since April 24).

During this time, 15 401 people recovered, 776 patients died.

The total number of COVID-19 cases registered in the country has reached 6,766,541; 6,034,867 patients have recovered since the beginning of the pandemic in Russia.

176,820 people died from complications due to coronavirus infection and concomitant diseases.

According to Rospotrebnadzor, over 175.5 million laboratory tests have been carried out in the country for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, more than 1.264 million people remain under medical supervision.

According to Alexander Gorelov, deputy director for scientific work of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, Russia is "in the phase of stabilization of the epidemiological process with a downward trend."

“This was influenced by a whole range of factors, one of the most important is vaccination, which has been quite active in recent weeks and, of course, has borne fruit.

Nevertheless, it is too early to relax, because 19 thousand cases per day is still a serious figure, which means that it is necessary to continue to comply with all anti-epidemic measures and get vaccinated for those who have not yet done so, ”he said.
