22 August 2021 An area of ​​instability arriving from central Europe will determine a gradual deterioration in the northern Italian regions in the next few hours, especially in the north-east.



Storm phenomena from the early hours of tomorrow will extend, intensifying, to Emilia-Romagna and subsequently to part of Central Italy.

The worsening of weather conditions will be associated with a significant drop in temperatures in the center-north, especially in the maximum values. 



Based on the available forecasts, the Department of Civil Protection in agreement with the regions involved - which are responsible for activating the civil protection systems in the territories concerned - has issued a further warning of adverse weather conditions which integrates and extends yesterday's one. . The weather phenomena, impacting on the various areas of the country, could determine hydrogeological and hydraulic criticalities which are reported, in a national summary, in the national criticality and alert bulletin which can be consulted on the Department's website (http://www.protezionecivile.gov .it). 



The warning from the afternoon-evening of Sunday 22 August, scattered rainfall with a prevalent downpour or thunderstorm character over the Veneto, extending from the early hours of Monday 23 August, to Emilia-Romagna and from the morning to Tuscany, Marche and Umbria. The phenomena will be accompanied by strong showers, local hailstorms, frequent electrical activity and strong gusts of wind. On the basis of the expected and ongoing phenomena, a yellow alert for thunderstorms in Veneto, Marche, Umbria, most of Emilia-Romagna and sectors of Tuscany was assessed for Monday 23 August.

The information on the regional alert levels, on the specific criticalities that could affect the individual territories and on the prevention actions adopted are managed by the territorial civil protection structures, in contact with which the Department will monitor the evolution of the situation.
