Brazil's President Jair Bolsonaro continues to ignore quarantine rules despite a series of fines imposed by local governments.

According to Brazilian media, the Sao Paulo state government said that President Bolsonaro, who recently visited two cities, Iporanga and Eudorado, was fined the day before for not following quarantine rules such as wearing a mask and social distancing.

The fine could reach up to 3 million real (about 650 million won), the state government said.

The state of São Paulo has made it compulsory to wear a mask in public since May last year, and anyone who violates it is fined.

It is the sixth time since June 12 that the Sao Paulo state government fined President Bolsonaro in connection with the COVID-19 crisis.

Even after the outbreak of COVID-19 in Brazil, President Bolsonaro's behavior of ignoring quarantine rules continues.

He has not even been vaccinated so far, raising questions about the vaccine's effectiveness.

In addition, on the 18th, Marcelo Keiro, the Minister of Health, in an interview with a YouTube video channel called 'Tersa Libri', expressed his opposition to the mandatory wearing of a mask and the imposition of fines for violations.

'Tersa Libri' is a media that supports President Bolsonaro and is even investigated by law enforcement authorities for spreading fake news related to Corona 19.
