Long wait for the King in Glömminge: "Absolutely worth it"

- I have gone here from Landskrona for this.

I do it every summer as they drive, says Barbro Lindell who was one of the spectators.

But the planned approximate arrival time of 11.00 came and went.

One by one, vintage cars and sports cars rolled through the town, but without a glimpse of the King and his passengers the Queen.

Only after twelve o'clock did the head of state's Volvo PV 60 vintage 1946 appear to roll in - from the wrong direction.

The king had deviated from the marked route, and taken a small shortcut through Glömminge.

Half a minute later, the car disappeared towards Öland's east coast.

- It was definitely worth it, says Barbro Lindell.
