In Kronoberg, at least 57 percent of everyone over the age of 18 has received two injections.

The same figure for Region Kalmar lands is 64.5.

But in just a few weeks, the proportion of fully vaccinated people will increase significantly in both counties, to 74 and 80 per cent respectively.

- We vaccinated a lot week 27-29 and seven weeks later those people get their dose 2. Therefore, we then get the vaccination coverage at dose 2 very much, says Lena Andersson Nazzal who is vaccine coordinator in Region Kronoberg, to SVT Nyheter Småland.

Kronoberg almost caught up

Kronoberg, which since the start of vaccinations has been somewhat lower in vaccination coverage than the neighboring county, is now almost in line.

Both Lena Andersson Nazzal and her colleague in Kalmar, Marie Ragnarsson, believe that the difference is due to the fact that Kalmar initially received more doses because they have an older population than Kronoberg.

And when Kronoberg received a larger delivery of vaccine this summer, it was summer and a little lower interest in vaccination.

The younger ones are vaccinated to a lesser extent

Although it is rising rapidly, it has been more difficult in both counties to get people between the ages of 18 and 29 to be vaccinated compared with people in other age groups.

In Kronoberg, this has led to a decision to vaccinate on site at both upper secondary schools and the university area.

However, no similar plans exist yet in Kalmar County.

In the clip above, you can hear what Lena Andersson Nazzal thinks about how large a share in the region will be vaccinated in total.
