The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced to three years in prison, a fine of one million and 50 thousand dirhams, and deportation, against an African gang consisting of three men and a woman, who professionally targeted bank customers, by having the woman monitor potential victims inside the bank, and instruct the rest of the accused abroad to track down the victim and steal him.

Investigations by the Public Prosecution revealed that the defendants tracked two employees of a travel company, after they withdrew an amount of one million and 50 thousand dirhams from the bank, until they reached the headquarters of their two companies, and then attacked them with a white weapon, stole the money and fled, but they had the Dubai Police on the lookout, so I caught them, and recovered part of the amount stolen.

The first victim said that he and his colleague went to a bank branch on Khalid Bin Al Waleed Street, and they exchanged 700,000 dirhams from it, then withdrew 350,000 dirhams from another branch, put the amount in a bag and went to the company's headquarters on Jumeirah Street to deposit the amount.

He added that they arrived at the headquarters, and asked his colleague to wait in the vehicle until he delivered the amount, and as soon as he crossed the fence leading to the building, he was surprised by someone pulling from his hand the bag of money and he resisted him, but the last one stabbed him with a knife in his hand, and he pulled the bag and ran after them for help to his colleague sitting in the car, who tried to catch up They in turn, but one of the thieves stabbed him in the hand, and they managed to escape, so they reported the incident to the police.

For his part, a witness from Dubai Police said that as soon as he received the report, a specialized team moved to the scene of the incident, listened to the testimony of the two victims, and quickly returned to the surveillance cameras that revealed the vehicle used by the thieves, and an urgent plan was implemented to prevent their escape.

He added that the work team was able to identify the suspects and raid their place of residence in the Abu Hail area, only three days after the communication, and one of them was arrested, while the rest fled to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, but were arrested in coordination with the police there, bringing the number of suspects who were arrested in the beginning to two men. and a woman, and then the arrest of a fourth accused.

He pointed out that the defendants confessed in detail to forming a gang to track bank-goers, and identified the victim for them, after she spotted him withdrawing a large amount inside the bank, so they tracked him and stole it under duress, then distributed the money among them, pointing to the seizure of the vehicle used in the theft, and raising several convicting evidence against the accused.

The Criminal Court initially ruled that three gang members (two men and a woman) be imprisoned for three years, a fine of one million and 50 thousand dirhams, and deportation.

After the arrest of the fourth accused, it finally ruled his conviction despite attempts to deny him, and sentenced him to the same penalty, stressing that his denial was merely sent statements that contradict his confession, which the court reassured, before the Public Prosecution, as well as the available evidence.
