Region Västernorrland has vaccinated between 750 and 800 berry pickers from different parts of the county in Härnösand and during the week, Jämtland and Härjedalen have also made a similar investment.
Given that several berry pickers have been found to be infected with covid-19 in Norrbotten, would it not be a good idea to do a targeted campaign here as well?
- It is a matter of course that we will vaccinate those who stay in Sweden, including those who are seasonal workers, but we have chosen to try to reach them through collaboration with the municipalities.
But I can not say that we have practically made or planned any targeted efforts against foreign berry pickers in the county, says Pia Näsvall.

At the end of July, there was a corona outbreak among foreign berry pickers who were in Tväråselet in Älvsbyn and it has also been shown that several of the stranded berry pickers from Bulgaria tested positive for coid-19.
- I know that some berry pickers who have come here received a first dose of vaccine in their home country, but I can not comment on individual groups, the infection control must do that. I can only make a general statement and our main task is to stop the pandemic and of course we want to vaccinate everyone, says Pia Näsvall.
