Anna Ekström says that she is prepared to do what is required to ensure security in Swedish schools.

The government is working to develop a national plan for security and study peace in schools.

Even though it is about the more everyday life at school, security is also important during the lessons, says Anna Ekström.

- That is why we are developing increased opportunities to move students who are threatening or do too much for their peers or for the teachers.

The staff should have time to plan for the worst

The school's safety is primarily the principal's and staff's responsibility, but it is good if parents and students also know that there is a plan if the worst should happen, says the school minister in Morgonstudion.

- Principals and teachers must be given the time needed to be able to prepare for this, which we do not want to happen, but if it happens, the schools must be able to handle it.

"Attacks are often preceded by incidents"

Another important preventive measure is to discuss values with the students.

- Often when school attacks happen, there has been some form of incident before according to the evaluations and research that has been done.

Strange things have been discovered before, that there was something to follow up, says Anna Ekström.
