"Donetsk and Luhansk regional state administrations - civil-military administrations have established the impossibility of ensuring proper security of citizens and avoiding terrorist threats during the organization and holding of the first local elections on October 31, 2021," the message says.
As noted, in this regard, the CEC appealed to the profile committee of the Verkhovna Rada regarding "legislative regulation of the procedure for resolving the issue of the impossibility of holding elections" in these territories.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, commenting on the situation with the settlement of the conflict in the southeast of the country, said that one cannot sit down at the negotiating table with people who have weapons in their hands.
