Vaccine boom among teenagers. But after mid-August administrations in decline

August 19, 2021 There are a total of 74,556,087 vaccine doses administered so far, with 35,947,511 people vaccinated, or 66.56% of the population over 12 who have completed the vaccination cycle.

It is read in the updated report of the Government to date.

Data that must be crossed with another, significant, elaborated by Lab24: adolescents drive the vaccination campaign in August and raise the share of first doses.

This means that they are now superior to the recalls.

It hadn't happened since the end of June.

The administrations in the age group 12-19 years - from Monday 16 August also possible without reservation - are the most numerous after those registered in the category of twenty-year-olds. Just over a fifth of the daily total. In the past week, on average, 44% of Covid vaccine injections have gone to people who have not yet turned 30.

Again according to the latest average elaborated by Lab24, a drop in the administration after mid-August emerges: 252,967 injections. A number that is half of the 500 thousand quota, the reference speed of the vaccination campaign reset by the Covid emergency commissioner Francesco Paolo Figliuolo. To find such a low number we must go back to another holiday: on April 8, in the week after Easter, the average was 248,270 doses.
