“We discussed preparations for the virtual meeting of NATO foreign ministers on August 20 on Afghanistan,” Blinken wrote on his Twitter account.
It is noted that the parties also stressed the importance of close cooperation in order to safely evacuate the personnel of allies and Afghan partners.
Earlier, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken discussed the development of the situation in Afghanistan.
