18 August 2021 The number of Covid cases in the world has continued to grow for two months, with over 4.4 million new reports in the last week alone, bringing the total since the beginning of the epidemic to 206 million.
The WHO reports this in its weekly bulletin, which also records, again in the period 9-15 August, 66 thousand deaths, an almost unchanged number compared to the previous week, with the total reaching over 4 million and 370 thousand.
"The trend is largely due to the Western Pacific region - we read - and to America, which reported an increase of 14% and 8% respectively".
