This came when His Highness announced the opening of the door to obtaining golden residency in the UAE for workers in the humanitarian sector, in conjunction with the World Humanitarian Day, corresponding to August 19 of each year.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said: "On the World Humanitarian Day, we celebrate its heroes, so that the UAE will be the destination and destination for workers in charitable and humanitarian initiatives, because they do not hesitate to put all their energies and capabilities in the service of the needy, and extend a helping hand in the most needy communities."

His Highness added: "Launching humanitarian work initiatives and empowering its pioneers is an authentic feature of the UAE since its union, and in the fiftieth year the state consolidates its position as a platform for charitable and humanitarian work for the next 50 years, by providing the opportunity for humanitarian workers to obtain golden residency."

The World Humanitarian Day, launched by the United Nations, celebrates the stars of humanitarian action around the world, to publicize their tremendous efforts and charitable deeds, highlight their initiatives, and show their impact in alleviating the impact of humanitarian crises and alleviating the suffering of those affected around the world.

The UAE confirmed its world-leading model in immediate response to crises and disasters, with the level of humanitarian aid provided by the country during the “Covid-19” pandemic until July 2021, with a total volume of 2,154 tons of medical aid, respiratory devices, examination devices and personal protection equipment that reached beneficiaries in 135 countries around the world.

Aid was sent to 117 countries from the warehouses of international organizations located in the International Humanitarian City in Dubai, while the state organized 196 trips to transport medical aid, and six field hospitals were established in Sudan, Guinea, Mauritania, Sierra Leone, Lebanon and Jordan, and a mobile clinic was equipped in Turkmenistan. .

The institutionalization of humanitarian work is a qualitative addition to the track record of charitable and humanitarian activities in the country, which is represented by the "Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives", which was established in 2015 to form a supportive umbrella for a set of initiatives and institutions launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The total humanitarian and relief aid provided by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives amounted to 382 million dirhams in 2020, and the number of beneficiaries of humanitarian and relief aid reached 34.8 million people in the same year.

In order to consolidate the principle of human solidarity in times of crisis, the 100 Million Meals campaign, the largest of its kind in the region, came to feed food in 30 countries, in the continents of Asia, Africa, Europe and South America.

The campaign implemented by the initiatives was successful, and was implemented in cooperation with the United Nations World Food Program, the Regional Network of Food Banks, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment, in addition to a number of charitable and relief institutions and societies in the countries covered by the campaign on the four continents. In collecting contributions equivalent to 216 million meals, through official donation channels, in which 385,000 donors, many government and private institutions, and the business community participated, in addition to organizing charitable auctions that doubled the target number of the campaign, and provided food support to the campaign beneficiaries in the most vulnerable communities. need.
