Good evening,

a hessian solo effort was not to be expected.

Nevertheless, the result of the deliberations of the Hessian "Corona Cabinet" on Tuesday was somewhat disappointing.

For the time being, the incidence, that almost mystical parameter of new infections with the coronavirus within seven days, remains the measure of many things.

Wiesbaden is also waiting for the Robert Koch Institute to soon present a matrix with which the occupancy of hospitals with Covid 19 patients and the vaccination rate can be weighed

before deciding whether restrictions can be tightened or relaxed.

There is only one thing that the state government has committed to before this uncertain autumn: There will no longer be a lockdown in Hesse.

Martin Benninghoff spoke to the Frankfurt therapist Marianne Rauwald.

She looks after Afghan women and men who have been traumatized and are now experiencing even darker hours.

She reports of patients who give up therapy after the events in their home country because they no longer see any point in it and who withdraw completely.

The young people portrayed in the Rhein-Main-Zeitung on a double page with the title “Shabbat candles & basketball” are full of confidence and zest for life.

Our photographer Laila Sieber accompanied young Jewish people in Frankfurt, celebrated Shabbat with them and stopped by at school or at sports - and experienced great diversity in the process.

There is the young trainer who says that for the children in his group it doesn't matter at all who is Jewish and who is not: “For me, being Jewish means feeling good, not necessarily following the orthodox track. I would not say that I am a religious believer. ”Or the 15-year-old schoolgirl who wishes society would think more of culture, celebrations and traditions,“ of the great things ”when the word Judaism was heard.
