The Paris Bourse fell 0.44% on Tuesday, still worried about the global economic recovery after a slowdown in growth in China.

At 9:40 am the star index CAC 40 dropped 30.29 points to 6,808.48 points.

On Monday, it gave up 0.83%.

While the index was very close to its all-time high of 2000, at 6944.77 points, last week it recorded its "first quack", "caught up by geopolitical tensions and signs of slowing growth in Asia", according to Thierry Claudé, deputy director of Kiplink Finance.

A slowdown in industrial production and retail sales in China in July pushed down most equity markets on Monday.

A trend also observed in the New York area where manufacturing activity slowed.

Investors fear this trend will spread to the entire economy.

"The rapid development of the Delta variant in the world, notably impacting consumption in China, reminded investors that the impact of the epidemic on household consumption could be very negative, despite successful vaccination campaigns in developed countries. ", explains Christian Parisot, analyst for Aurel BGC.

Nevertheless in Europe, employment figures continue to improve in the United Kingdom, thanks to the economic recovery, with a drop in the unemployment rate (4.7%) and a record number of vacancies.

In addition to economic and health doubts, the situation in Afghanistan, where the Taliban took control after the collapse of government forces, is weighing on investor morale.

Investors will also watch Tuesday for a second estimate of the gross domestic product (GDP) of the euro area for the second quarter and the retail sales index for July in the United States.

On Wednesday, the trade report from the latest US central bank (Fed) monetary policy meeting will be the most anticipated release of the week and may give investors more information on the latter's intentions.

Still half the number of travelers in Paris

Traffic at Paris airports reached its highest level in July since the start of the health crisis in France, but still represents less than half of the volumes in July 2019. Aéroports de Paris share dropped 0.93% to 101, 10 euros.
