And she wrote on Twitter: "Mercy and forgiveness for the late minister Dr. Ahmed Mortada al-Zuhairi, and the late minister, military commander Arshad al-Zibari. We belong to God and to Him we shall return."

And the agency “Sputnik” quoted a source close to the Hussein family, that “the former Minister of Transport, Ahmed Mortada, died in Jordan, after a struggle with illness.”

He pointed out that the Minister of State, Arshad Al-Zebari, died at the age of 79 in the city of Sulaymaniyah, due to health conditions.

It is likely that Mortada's body will be transferred from Jordan to his final resting place in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, and confirmed that the two ministers died on Monday.

Murtada held the position of Minister of Transport from 1993 until the fall of Baghdad in 2003, when he was arrested by US forces who released him in 2005 and then left for Amman, where he settled until his death. Until 2003.
