"Walked around with jump leads ready to hit people"

He says that today it has been a bit calmer at the airport, but that there are still thousands of people outside who want to try to leave Kabul.

- There are a lot of Taliban fighters everywhere, says Samir Abu Eid.

The Taliban tried to push back people at the airport by striking them with sticks and rifles.

- I saw an older Taliban walking around with jump leads ready to hit people who did not listen to them.

They also fired a lot into the air.

- It was very uncomfortable, but despite that, people, including families, were pressured to get into the airport, says Samir Abu Eid.
