  The Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taiwan Railway is an important part of the national coastal railway's fast passenger transport corridor, connecting Hangzhou, Shaoxing, and Taizhou, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour and a total length of about 266.9 kilometers.

The Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taiwan Railway is one of the first 8 social capital investment railway demonstration projects in China. It is also the first private-owned high-speed railway in China. Private capital accounts for 51%.

  On August 16, 2013, the National Development and Reform Commission issued the "Opinions on Reforming the Railway Investment and Financing System and Accelerating Railway Construction", proposing to fully open the railway construction market and open intercity railways, urban (suburban) railways, and railways to local governments and social capital. The ownership and management rights of resource development railways and branch railways shall encourage social capital to invest in the construction of railways.

  In December 2015, the National Development and Reform Commission promulgated the country's first batch of 8 demonstration projects for private capital investment railways, among which the Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taiwan Railway was listed.

On September 11, 2017, the Zhejiang Provincial Government and the private consortium led by Fosun Group formally signed the "Hangshao-Taiwan Railway PPP Project Investment Contract".

  The Jiaojiang Bridge on the Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taiwan Railway and the Taizhou Central Station are the highlights of the design and construction of the entire line.

  "The Jiaojiang Bridge is the first two-way four-line high-speed railway cable-stayed bridge in China, and it is also the world's largest span four-line high-speed railway continuous steel truss cable-stayed bridge." said Li Liang, head of the Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taiwan railway design technology of the China Railway Construction Railway Fifth Institute, Jiaojiang The extra-large bridge is 5.3 kilometers long and is a four-lane high-speed double-truss cable-stayed bridge. The main bridge span is 480 meters long, setting the highest level of high-speed rail construction in terms of bridge design and construction difficulty.

"As the first groundbreaking'station-city integration' model station building in my country's high-speed rail station building construction, Taizhou Central Station will become a gateway connecting Taizhou and developed economic zones, and will closely link Taizhou and the Yangtze River Delta economic circle." The government authorizes the project company to be responsible for investment, construction, operation, maintenance, and transfer. After the expiration of the operation period, the project company transfers all project assets to the government free of charge. square.
