It was in May that Aftonbladet reported serious deficiencies in the handling of chickens at Kronfågel.

Among other things, chickens had been scalded alive, according to an order from the county administrative board.

At the end of July, the county administrative board in Sörmland carried out a follow-up inspection at the facility in Valla outside Katrineholm, and discovered that the company had not done enough to rectify the problems.

Dialogue with Kronfågel

The County Administrative Board's assessment is that there are several shortcomings left in the company's animal husbandry that need to be remedied, but exactly which the County Administrative Board does not want to comment on.

- Now we have a dialogue with the company on how to deal with the shortcomings from that inspection, says Christina Nyman, county veterinarian at the County Administrative Board of Sörmland

- Kronfågel has come up with proposals for measures and we have approved some, we will also check them, says Christina Nyman.

Working on a solution

Krontågel admits to SVT that all shortcomings have still not been remedied.

- It is a failure, but the majority of the shortcomings have been remedied.

We are waiting for a check by the county administrative board to get them approved.

We work hard to get it resolved as soon as possible, says Janneke Vackerberg, Communication and Sustainability Manager at Kronfågel.

According to Janneke Vackerberg, the shortcomings that have not yet been remedied require technical solutions that take longer to get in place.

TV4 was the first to report on the shortcomings that have not yet been remedied.
