Xinhua News Agency, Jerusalem, August 14 (Reporter Lv Yingxu Shanghao) Israeli Foreign Minister Rapide said in a statement on the 14th that he had ordered the country’s embassy in Poland to return to protest against Poland’s legislation on the time limit for property claims.

Lapid said in a statement that Poland passed an "anti-Semitic and ethical violation" law on the 14th, "I have instructed the charge d'affaires of the Israeli embassy in Warsaw to return immediately for indefinite consultations."

At the same time, the upcoming Israeli ambassador to Poland will stay in Israel temporarily.

The statement also said that the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs would recommend that the Polish ambassador to Israel who is currently on holiday in Poland "continue to spend his holiday in his country."

Rapid said that Israel is coordinating with the United States on how to respond to the Polish legislation.

Israeli Prime Minister Bennett said in a statement on the 14th that this Polish legislation is a "shameful decision" and "a shameful contempt for the memory of the Holocaust" and Israel cannot remain indifferent.

Polish President Duda approved a law on the 14th, stipulating that the time limit for recovering and claiming property after confiscation is 30 years.

During the Second World War, Nazi Germany massacred Jews in the occupied areas of Poland. Approximately 3 million Polish Jews were killed.

Israel believes that the law will prevent the descendants of Jews who were deprived of their property in the Holocaust from recovering and making claims.

Duda said in a statement that the signing of the law aims to eliminate the legal uncertainty and some fraudulent behavior of some property ownership.

Duda said that he strongly opposes anyone suggesting that the law specifically targets Jews who survived the Holocaust.
