During SVT Nyheter's live broadcast with the correspondent team in Kabul, a constant, buzzing sound from helicopters is heard over the city.

White lines are suddenly seen descending over the otherwise cloudless sky.

- They have dropped some form of ... It's not bombs, but it's something, says Samir Abu Eid.

"A torch to mislead anti-aircraft missiles"

Fredrik Helmertz, communicator at the Swedish Armed Forces, has seen the broadcast and says that it is a matter of countermeasures.

- It is a torch, you send out one or more, for example from helicopters, to mislead air defense missiles, ie heat-seeking missiles, says Helmertz.

According to him, it is probably an American helicopter that has released it as a precaution.

- It is natural in a threatening situation, when you do not know where the Taliban are or how they may act.

Photos taken by photographer Rahmat Gul for the news agency AP claim that these are American Black Hawk helicopters.

Hope it does not get bloody

There are smaller groups of Taliban inside Kabul, says Samir Abu Eid, while the majority of the Taliban are outside the city that is surrounded.

According to the Minister of the Interior, there have been talks about a peaceful transfer of power, to avoid bloodshed.

- People hope that it will not be a bloody takeover, because everyone realizes that the Taliban will regain control of the whole of Afghanistan, says SVT's correspondent.

In a communiqué sent out by the Taliban on Sunday, the Taliban also claim that they want to take the city peacefully.
