Four suspicious flight passengers arranged for the federal police to be deployed at Frankfurt Airport and prevented a plane from taking off to Mexico.

According to the federal police, the incident occurred on Saturday on board a Lufthansa plane shortly before the start from Frankfurt to Cancun. A company spokesman confirmed that the flight did not take place as planned. He was made up on Sunday. He did not provide any further information.
According to the federal police, the men between the ages of 18 and 27 were suspected of having behaved abnormally. Among other things, they are said to have written messenger messages with their smartphones despite the ban. Other travelers would have photographed them and translated them from an Indian language into French using an online translation program. This apparently led to misinterpretations which falsely suggested possible suicidal intentions. Finally, the police were alerted and the aircraft on the apron was searched with explosives detection dogs. In the end, it was possible to rule out any actual risk to the flight.
Forged Portuguese residence permits had been found on the men, and one had made a confession. They are being investigated for violating the Aviation Security Act and forgery of documents, among other things. After the end of the investigation, they are said to be returned to India.
