Increasing the absorptive capacity in a number of activities in Abu Dhabi

The Emergency and Crisis Management Committee in Abu Dhabi updated the operational ratios in a number of activities in the emirate, starting from August 20, 2021, coinciding with the activation of the decision to restrict the entry of a number of public places to restaurants.

The committee raised the capacity to 80% in commercial and entertainment centers, cultural centers, museums, cinemas, restaurants and cafes, while allowing 10 people to sit at one table, and health clubs, halls, sports academies and health resorts will continue to operate at 50% of their capacity.

The committee approved raising the capacity of public and private events to 60%, including community, sports, business and entertainment events, and raising the capacity of wedding halls so that it does not exceed 100 people in the hall.

The committee also raised the capacity of public transport to 75%, allowing a maximum of three passengers in addition to the driver of the vehicle in a 5-passenger taxi and a maximum of four passengers in addition to the driver of the vehicle in a 7-passenger taxi.

The committee confirmed the exclusivity of entering public places according to the approved green traffic system, which will be implemented from August 20, and taking into account the protocol for public events, which requires the presentation of the PCR test result received 48 hours before the start of the event.

The decision comes in accordance with the committee's strategy for managing response operations, which aims to create an appropriate balance between protecting all members of society and ensuring continued economic growth.
