Erling Haaland in Dortmund, season 3: carried by their Norwegian striker, author of two goals and three assists, Borussia swept Eintracht Frankfurt 5-2 on Saturday for the first day of the Bundesliga and took the lead with Stuttgart and Hoffenheim.

The Norwegian, who scored 62 goals in 61 matches with Dortmund, was the man of a meeting perfectly mastered by BVB, three days before the German Supercup against Bayern, hung Friday on the ground of Mönchengladbach ( 1-1).

The dynamics seem diametrically opposed between the Bavarian club, in doubt after a complicated preparation, and the Ruhr club, which has been full of confidence with eight goals scored in two official matches.

Haaland, who went on the hats after his treble last week in the German Cup against Wehen (D3), responded to the Polish serial scorer of Bayern Munich Robert Lewandowski, author of a volley on Friday, during the first Julian Nagelsmann's match at the head of the Rekordmeister.

Dortmund temporarily take the lead in the Bundesliga alongside Hoffenheim, who won 4-0 at Augsburg and Stuttgart, who crushed promoted Greuther Fürth 5-1 at home earlier in the day.

In the other games of the day, Union Berlin and Bayer Leverkusen drew 1-1, Wolfsburg defeated promoted Bochum on penalty, while Arminia Bielefeld and Friborg separated in a goalless draw.

On Sunday, RB Leipzig, another contender for the title, move to the Mainz lawn at 13:30 GMT, while Cologne and Hertha Berlin close the first day (15:30).

Suspense, there was none at Signal Iduna Park, as the BVB was dominating, confiscating the ball from the "Eagles" of Frankfurt, in full doubt after having been taken out in the German Cup by a formation of D3.

Highly visible, captain Marco Reus showed the way, for his hundredth goal with Dortmund in the Bundesliga (22nd), served by the prodigy Haaland, who did it again in the 32nd by slipping the ball to Thorgan Hazard (32nd).

Reus then returned courtesy to his Norwegian pal two minutes later.

If Frankfurt came back against the course of the game thanks to a goal against his camp from Felix Passlack (72nd), the BVB then worsened the score by Giovanni Reyna (58th), before Halaland offered himself a brace (72nd) .

Eintracht saved the honor in the 86th thanks to another Norwegian, Jens Hauge, on loan from AC Milan.

Marco Rose's first men's goal, who was playing his first Bundesliga match on the Schwarz-Gelben bench, is a marvel of the offensive transition phase in which BVB is a specialist.

After a two-way take on Evan N'Dicka, Haaland recovered the ball in his own half of the field before tumbling into the Eintracht defense, to serve Reus who deceived Kevin Trapp with a left strike.

The score could have been much heavier, with three goals denied for Dortmund (40th, 58th, 70th), while Halaland was not far from offering himself a hat-trick at the end of the match, with a shot deflected by Trapp ( 90 + 1).
