On Friday, Turkish Vice President Fuad Oktay announced that Sudan had allocated 100,000 hectares of agricultural land for his country's operation.

This came during the participation of Oktay and the Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, in a "mini-consultative meeting with Turkish businessmen and investors" organized by the Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Council, in Ankara.

Oktay indicated that the talks between the two countries, on Thursday, resulted in the signing of 7 agreements and memoranda of understanding, covering the fields of energy, defense, finance and media.

Increase the volume of bilateral trade

For his part, the head of the Sudanese Sovereign Council expressed, on Friday, his confidence in the possibility of raising the volume of trade with Turkey to two billion dollars soon.

This came in his speech during a small consultative meeting, accompanied by Oktay, with Turkish businessmen and investors in Ankara.

Al-Burhan indicated that Sudan is going through a transitional phase to reach the position it deserves among the developed world countries, and pointed out that there are difficulties in the entry of capital into Sudan and the establishment of partnerships due to the problems that the country faced in the past.

He added, "Despite these difficult circumstances, we have had experiences with Turkish investors, and I am confident that the volume of trade (with Turkey) will reach two billion dollars very soon."

Al-Burhan explained that "areas such as agriculture, mining, infrastructure, transportation, electricity, energy and communications are open areas for investment in our country."

He stressed that Sudan also supports the private sector in terms of investment, adding, "Turkey is very important to us, as it is a leading country, and has great expertise, and is advanced in many fields such as agriculture and other sectors."

He expressed his country's desire to take advantage of these opportunities and experiences, stressing that they would be happy to see Turkish businessmen and investors in Sudan.

Al-Burhan also stressed that they will support the Turkish-Sudanese partnership by all available means, and make it stronger
