It was during a practice dive in the industrial harbor in Malmö that the Coast Guard found several safes on the seabed.
- This is not the first time we have found safes in that port, says Mats Persson, commander of the Coast Guard in Malmö.
Be emptied
Not all cabinets came up to the surface, but four of them were salvaged.
Who they belonged to is unclear.
- Unfortunately, they were broken and empty, they probably come from some burglary, Mats Persson thinks.
During the dive, an intact car was also found, with the registration plate left.
- It could be searched and it turned out to be a goalkeeper car that was dumped.
Important to address
Making finds on the seabed is not unusual for the Coast Guard.
- We find everything possible.
Weapons, hand grenades, scooters and mopeds, says Mats Persson.
- With the biggest benefit for the sea is that we pick up the cars, so that they do not destroy the marine environment.
