China News Service, August 13th. According to a comprehensive report from the Canadian "Sing Tao Daily", Canadian permanent residents can now submit naturalization applications online.

According to CIC News, the Canadian Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship (IRCC) has launched a new online tool that allows permanent residents of Canada to submit citizenship applications online.

Starting from August 11, IRCC has opened online personal applications to applicants who have reached the age of 18, but does not include family applications and agent applications.

In addition, online applications are not open to applicants who are employed by state-owned institutions and work overseas.

Later this year, IRCC will open online applications to families and groups, as well as minors under the age of 18.

In 2022, online applications will be extended to agents applying on behalf of their clients, and it will also be open to staff of state-run agencies residing outside Canada.

IRCC stated that applicants who have already submitted paper applications should not try to reapply online.

As part of the immigration system modernization plan, IRCC is already developing these new online tools and will release a tool to test the capacity of the online platform at the end of 2020.

The new online system allows applicants to save unfinished applications and continue later.

At the same time, users are also allowed to upload supporting documents, proof of payment, print PDF files, and request confirmation receipts.
