British Prime Minister Boris Johnson previously approved the use of military support to facilitate the next phase of the removal of British citizens from the country, including the use of RAF aircraft when needed.

“Protecting British citizens and ensuring their safety when leaving Afghanistan is our top priority, so we are launching Operation Pitting, for which our military is very well prepared,” said British Defense Minister Ben Wallace.

The UK urged its citizens to leave Afghanistan immediately due to the deteriorating security situation.

The Norwegian authorities previously announced the evacuation of all employees of their embassy in Afghanistan and the temporary closure of the diplomatic mission.

Also, the decision to evacuate personnel from their embassy in Kabul was made in Denmark and Germany.
