An American kills his two children with a fishing gun to "save the world from monsters"

An American man stabbed a two-year-old girl in the heart with a pointed fishing tackle and placed their bodies in a trench in Mexico, CNN reported.

Authorities said 40-year-old surf coach Matthew Taylor Coleman of Santa Barbara, California, confessed to killing his two-year-old son and 10-month-old daughter in Mexico, telling the FBI that he prompted the killing after his "enlightenment." Through QAnon and conspiracy theories.

Police and federal agents were called after the children were reported missing by their mother.

Authorities traced Coleman's cell phone to Mexico, and CCTV images released by authorities show Coleman checked into a hotel with his children on August 7.

Just before 3 a.m. on August 9, they packed their bags and left the hotel.

He came back hours later on his own.

Customs officials stopped him on his return to the United States, while US Customs and Border Protection officials discovered what appeared to be blood on his vehicle registration documents, without children.

The FBI soon learned from Mexican authorities that the bodies of two children had been found at night, along with the murder weapon, blood-stained clothes and a children's blanket.

According to the criminal complaint, Coleman allegedly told authorities that he had "received visions and signs that his wife carried animal DNA and passed it on to their two children."

He also alleged that Coleman told the FBI that he was "saving the world from monsters."

Culkan was arrested and charged with out-of-state murder of US citizens.
